The problem.....
'Other' files take up a disproportionate amount of space on your iPhone.
Example - my wife's iPhone had 2Gb remaining and over 8Gb of other files. No music, no pictures and very few Apps.
Solution.
1)Plug into iTunes.
2)Backup iPhone to computer.
3)On iPhone, erase all content and settings. Enter iTunes password or phone passcode if prompted.
4)Plug phone back into iTunes and restore from backup.
Give it a moment and see the other files vanish. Smile.
This is the only real solution and there is no inconvenience as your handset will be restored to the same state it was before the problem. I've tried several Apps and none have been effective as this free solution.
So save your money and hope Apple eventually offer a defrag or disk cleanup option in iOS 9!
Let me know if this helps you.
